I felt way too much emotion while reading this (in a good way).Arghhh...I can't believe how much this book managed to turn me inside out, upside down, and back and forth. At first I was sad, then I was happy, then I was melancholy, and finally I was stunned! To put it into perspective : Some books you love for the world building. Some you love for the story. This series I love for the characters. I am in love with love, and I am in love with Diana and Henry's tortured relationship. Will they end up together or won't they? Only time will tell. Life is sure deciding to throw them an unfair amount of obstacles. This second installment of The Luxe series kept to its social-climbing, gossip-girl feel, yet managed to come across feeling more human this time around. I even managed to sympathize with both Elizabeth's and Lina's plight by the end of the book, which I hadn't expected to find myself doing. For those hesitant to try this series because book 1 is a bit difficult to get into at first with its gossip-magazine-from-another-era-feel, I encourage you to keep at it. You will be rewarded.
