Dark Xanadu Book One - Sindra van Yssel (Ignore the review below this that is the same exact thing. It's my review on another account. I wasn't copying, I was just moving this series over here.)3.75 stars. This is snack food erotica - lots of world building and character development is not needed, nor should it be expected. This is the "before bed quickie" kind of erotica - perfect for certain times when you don't want to have to learn about a new world...you just want to get to the fun stuff.I really liked this one. The BDSM was low-key, just enough to be enticing, but not enough to be scary. I liked that it was more about letting the man take charge of sex than it was about punishment. In fact, the BDSM club setup was sort of strange, considering there wasn't really any play with props or toys. It was mainly spanking over a desk, heh. This author had a great voice. I liked the mix of story and sex, but wish that the stalker/criminal thing had been more about real world people instead of vampires. I don't understand the need for paranormal in a shorter book, when you can't really delve into the vampire world and why the creatures are even there. I don't like the premise that, "they're here and they're out to get you," without further reasoning. Even so, I enjoyed this read cover to cover (or as much as you can get in ebook form). The sex was hot, the relationship had sparks, and I connected with the characters, which is hard for me to do in an erotica.
