I liked this one, but something was missing for me. The humor and easygoing nature of the Percy Jackson books were not as much in the forefront in the start of this new offshoot series. Even so, it was a fun book. This author is usually pretty consistent. The changing PoV from chapter to chapter was a new thing and a bit different. This took a few chapters to get used to, but eventually it didn't really matter. I prefer his single PoV style for this type of book, but am not upset about the change either. Riordan will always have a fan in me, but as of right now, I'm just not as hyped about the start of this series the way that I was when I read PJ.
