***Re-Read with friends as a buddy read July 2011***Loved this book the second time around, knowing where it was headed. I was able to pick up some extra details that I missed the first time around. Still not crazy about Bastien though. I'm excited and anxiously awaiting my favorite scene in book 4 this time!***original review***This series is a bit confusing to be honest. Both the first book and this one started just okay. I was unsure about first book to begin with, then it picked up out of nowhere and grabbed my interest. The exact same thing happened with this one. I'm not quite sure yet where Mead was trying to go with these books, other than Georgie getting a boyfriend that she can't touch, so she has to go take out her sexual frustration on other men.Putting that aside, I really did like Succubus on Top. I was surprised to find Roman not making an appearance in this book, since I know he ends up coming back according to comments I've seen on later installments. So far, I'm still really liking Seth, even if he has his dull moments. Apparently, according to other people, this won't last. Who knows...I'm not really sure how to describe the plot in this one. It felt more like I was reading an extension of the first book. There wasn't really anything new, other than the addition of an old Incubus friend and a side plot involving some 'nectar of the gods' being used for the purpose of recreational drugs. So far I'm liking the series though. I'm liking it enough to keep reading, and have been told that the best books are yet to come, so we'll see how it goes!
