Anna and the French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins What a refreshing book! Normally (as most of my friends know), I don't read a lot of realistic fiction unless it comes highly recommended. Anna and the French Kiss was one of those highly recommended books. Actually, it was recommended by a few of you - thanks!I have no way to fully convey how great the book was. The characters were believable, the setting was fun, the drama was less angsty and more true-to-life.Credit goes to the author for making a male lead flawed, yet somehow still irresistable. He isn't perfect looking (even being slightly shorter than the female lead - that's one you don't see every day), yet he's gorgeous. He isn't sweet all the time, yet he's still vulnerable. He isn't cocky, yet he's very aware and confident of how girls seem to trip over themselves to impress him.Hell, there was at least once or twice I might have wanted to throw him out on his rear if I was Anna, yet I kept wanting to go back for more, the same as she did. Characters like this don't come along often, so it's easy to gravitate to them when they show up.I'd recommend this one to any fan of funny, sweet or practical stories. I'd also tell anyone who's a fan of love winning out in the end to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
