3.5 stars. I enjoyed the book. The story was entertaining but nothing special. For some reason I was expecting a bit more scandalous intrigue, considering the wholesome woman was trying to win over the self proclaimed King of Hell. But, I was sadly mistaken.I mainly tried this one because Anne Stuart comes highly recommended. I probably should have gone with her Ice series because that one has so many enthusiastic fans, but I figured I'd ease into her writing with one of her historicals instead, which is more in my comfort zone than a contemporary is. She did alright by me with this book, enough so that I will be checking out this Ice series that everyone seems to be enamored of. At least I know that her writing style isn't terribly hard to get into.
